CHARLESTON — Choosing a fine wine is no easy task. Unless your name is Josh Wine and you are pressed into duty at a moment’s notice. During Wednesday’s opening-round game of the West Virginia American Legion State Tournament, Wine delivered a run-scoring triple in the bottom of the eighth inning, which put Parkersburg Post 15 ahead for good in a 5-3 win against Morgantown Post 2 at Appalachian Power Park. Post 15 advances into the winner’s bracket and plays today at 7 p.m. against the survivor of Wednesday night’s late game between South Charleston Post 94 and Berkeley Post 14. “The win against Beckley (in the Area 3 tournament) was nice, but today’s win is big for us,” Post 15 coach Jim Goodwin said. “This is a step in the right direction.” Wine entered the lineup only after leadoff hitter Luke Corley aggravated a hamstring injury.
