WVa PSC reduces another requested gas rate hike

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) _ The state Public Service Commission has reduced another natural gas utility's requested rate increase.

On Thursday, the PSC approved a temporary purchased gas rate of $11.36 per cubic thousand feet for Bluefield Gas Co.

Bluefield Gas' current rate is $9.60 per cubic thousand feet and the company wanted to increase it to $12.30 per cubic thousand feet.

Bluefield Gas is among several natural gas companies whose requested rate increases have been reduced by the PSC.

The companies sought the rate adjustments to recoup money they paid for natural gas before prices started dropping.
