Fred, Take a tour of Fort Boreman. The park has taken the time to place information markers throughout the park. If the schools aren't teaching enough about WV history, at least there are places like Fort Boreman that help. I am sure that Long Tom will also receive markers about its history and create new memories for those that see it, and perhaps learn something about the history of the cannon and it historical role in Parkersburg.

They should no more move the cannon than move the log cabin. I remember playing on it in the 50's before I lived in Parkersburg at the yearly Deem reunions in September. It is imbedded in the City Park experience and should remain.
